A thigh lift is usually performed in conjunction with liposuction to help achieve a more sculpted result. The scar will be located in the groin crease and may extend to a varying degree along the inner aspect of the thigh toward the knee. This scar may be visible depending on the type of clothing worn. Dr Watts performs his thigh lift procedure on an inpatient basis using general anaesthesia. On average it will take 1-2 hours to complete. A compression garment will be applied after the procedure to minimise swelling, provide support and assist with contouring. After surgery you will remain in overnight for closer observation and once recovered satisfactorily will be allowed to return home with a friend or family member. Patients should be prepared to have 2-3 weeks off work to recover from a thigh lift procedure.
