Buttock Augmentation

Buttock augmentation has become a popular cosmetic procedure, thanks to excellent results flaunted by some celebrities. Buttock augmentation enhances natural curves and can also add volume and roundness to your derriere! Dr Watts preferred method for performing buttock augmentation is via autologous fat transfer, which utilises your own body fat to sculpt contours with a more natural and aesthetically pleasing result. It is an effective way to create a more youthful and naturally lifted behind with a soft and beautiful silhouette.

Buttock augmentation is performed in conjunction with liposuction in order for the autologous fat required for the injections to be harvested. It may also be combined it with other cosmetic surgical procedures to best suit your individual aesthetic needs.

• Improve shape, contour and position of buttocks
• Add further volume and roundness
• Accentuate overall body contours
• Create more balanced proportions
• Make your buttocks look more youthful and lifted

Dr Watts performs his buttock augmentation procedure on an outpatient basis under local anaesthesia and sedation or general anaesthesia. Firstly, your own fat is collected from another area of the body such as the back, thighs or abdomen using liposuction. The number of areas requiring liposuction depends on the amount of the fat available at the donor sites. The fat is then prepared and then reintroduced via a series of injections into the buttocks.

The length of the procedure may depend on many factors including degree of enhancement desired and number of donor sites needing to be used but on average takes 2-3 hours. A compression garment will be applied after the procedure to minimise swelling, provide support and assist with shaping. After surgery you will be observed for a few hours to ensure your initial recovery is progressing well before you are allowed to return home with a friend or family member.

Written procedure specific information sheets will be given to you in order for you to prepare for your surgery and the recovery period. You may experience mild to moderate discomfort after the procedure and a postoperative analgesia regime will be tailored to meet your specific needs. It is not uncommon to experience some swelling and possible bruising after the procedure but most swelling will settle within 2 weeks. Results become most apparent after 6-8 weeks after softening of the area occurs, ongoing improvements in contour and shape will continue for 6-12 months.
